The taste of Aloe Vera might not be for everyone (the texture can be a little odd!) but the health benefits by far out weigh this.

A few years a go I put myself on a detox which involved just drinking aloe vera juice for 24 hours and then adding it into a detox diet.

I won´t advise anyone partake in only consuming aloe vera juice (it wasn´t pleasant!!) but I will say that after adding aloe juice to my diet for a few weeks I did feel a few benefits. For example my digestive system seemed to improve - I felt a lot less bloated from the soothing effects of the aloe on my stomach. In turn I believe it may have helped me to lose a couple of pounds. 

I also think it is worth mentioning here that you can also benefit from Aloe Vera but not only juicing and drinking it it but by rubbing directly onto your skin. 

Aloe Vera is such a soothing and moisturizing plant which is great to help with skin irritations such as burns and sun burn. 

We keep an aloe plant at home to help treat minor burns and sunburn, I literally just take a leaf, cut into it and rub the flesh of the plant directly on effected area.

Give these recipes a go and see the results for yourself, if the flavor isn´t for you then you can always add some extra ingredients, perhaps honey, to make it more palatable.

In these recipes you´ll notice that were using aloe vera in its raw form straight from the plant. The best way to prepare this for juicing or blending is by first cutting single leaves/stems from your aloe plant. Next peel or cut one side of the aloe skin length ways from root to tip and then scrape the flesh from the inside into a glass or cup using a small spoon. 

You can also purchase Aloe Juice extract from our online store to save time, then all you need to do is prepare your juice and stir in the aloe at the end.

Aloe Juice Vera

Aloe Vera is rich in essential vitamins like a, C, E and B12, also minerals like zinc, potassium and magnesium. It is a super food for colds and flu!

It is great for boosting your immune system and provides the body with important antioxidants. Kale is another super food which I try incorporate into my diet on a daily basis. It is low in calories but very high in fibre and iron.

Ingredients

  • 3 Stalks of Celery
  • 2 Carrots
  • 1 Cup of Kale
  • Half a cup of Aloe Vera Juice
  • 1 Green Apple
  • Half a Lemon (Peeled)

Instructions

  1. Juice all ingredients
  2. Serve



Aloe Vera Smoothie

This smoothie will help keep your body alkaline and hydrated. Its high in potassium and vitamins. As this one contains banana then it´s best to use a smoothie or blender rather than a juicer.

  • 2 Aloe Vera leaves (skin removed)
  • 1 Banana (peeled)
  • 2 Teaspoons of Honey
  • 1 Cup of Frozen Berries

Instructions

  1. Throw all the ingredients into the blender and blend for 30 - 60 seconds
  2. Serve - add more honey if needed


Aloe Juice Vera

Aloe Vera Juice for Detoxification

Ingredients

  • 4 Cups of Watermelon pieces
  • 1 Aloe Vera Leaf (Fresh & Skin Removed)
  • 2 Carrots
  • 2 Cups Filtered Water

Instructions

  1. Juice the carrots in your juicer
  2. Mash together watermelon and aloe vera with a folk until it´s fairly smooth and in liquid form
  3. Pour the carrot juice and watermelon mixture into a jug, add the filtered water and give it a good stir
  4. Serve over ice and enjoy!




Aloe Vera Coconut Juice

  2. Serve
