How to Prepare Apple Juice

Homemade apple juice is a classic easy juice which can actually be enjoyed both hot and cold!

I have recently become quite partial to hot apple infused with spices as a healthy evening treat to get me 

Apples juice really well and they are packed with nourishment keeping you at optimum level. Making your own fresh apple juice will taste so much better than store bought.

How to Prepare Apple Juice 

The quickest and most simplest way to make fresh apple juice is to use a juicer. Do yourself a favor and invest in a quality juicer you will be so glad you did.

Apple Juice - Juicer

  1. Use 2 or 3 apples per glass serving
  2. Wash the apples thoroughly 
  3. Core the apples (the seeds are slightly toxic)
  4. Cut the apple into smaller pieces to easily be juiced
  5. Juice
  6. Either serve right away or place in the fridge to chill before enjoying it


Apple Juice - Blender

  1. Follow the same steps from 1 - 4 in the above method except you will need to remove the apples skins as well
  2. Place apple pieces into your blender
  3. Add 1 cup of fresh milk
  4. Add 1 tablespoon of sugar
  5. Blend ingredients until the mixture is nice and smooth
  6. Serve and enjoy
How to prepare hot apple juice

Hot Mulled Apple Juice 

As I was telling you above, this has become my new favorite winter warmer I really enjoy a cup of this hot juice of an evening to curb that sweet craving!

Once the apple is juiced its super easy and can be thrown together with spices in your cupboard. 

Ingredients 

  • 1 litre of freshly squeezed Apple juice
  • 1 X Orange & 1 X Lemon
  • Spices including: Star Anis, Cardamon, Ground Cinnamon and Cloves - heaped teaspoon of each

Method

  • Pour apple juice into a saucepan and slowly bring to a simmer - do not boil.
  • Whilst the apple juice is heating through, peel the Orange and Lemon using a peeler. Try not to get too much of the white pith in the peel as it isn´t great for you to consume. 
  • Chuck all the spices in the pan along with the peel 
  • Juice the remainder of the orange in a lemon juicer - if you don´t have one then you can press the inside with the back of a spoon over the saucepan. 
  • Stir the mixture and allow to simmer for 30 minutes but do not allow it to boil.
  • Once the juice has mulled for 30 minutes I would advise straining off the spices and peel with a strainer or simply skim the surface of the pan with a large spoon 
  • Pour into a large mug, pull out your favorite book and comfy clothes and enjoy!
